Chris

Chris earned an academic scholarship to Winchester College, the equivalent of A* at A-level in Latin, Classical Greek, French and Russian, a BA in Modern Languages (2:1) from Oxford University and an MA in Translation (Merit) from the University of Bath focusing on French and Russian. Chris very much enjoys helping students get acquainted with a new area or gain a deeper understanding of one they’ve encountered before in a way that works for them, whether for a qualification, entrance exam or personal interest. He offers Latin, Classical Greek and Classical Civilisation up to GCSE, French and Russian up to A-level, and support in proofreading and editing of all academic texts including theses. He is also one of our mentors and finds great enjoyment in exploring ideas and expanding the horizons of his mentees. Outside of tutoring, Chris works as a freelance translator for clients including the United Nations and is a semi-professional folk, rock and jazz musician.
